Privacy policy

Effective October 19, 2026. This policy applies to တရားသံ (Tayarthan), the Myanmar Dhamma audio app.

Listening without an account

You do not need an account to browse, stream or download recordings. Favorites, playlists, notes, playback progress, preferences, cached announcements and downloaded audio are stored on your device.

Requests and issue reports

If you send a talk request, we store the requested teacher, title, message, status and administrator reply. A random installation token lets your installation retrieve its requests; the server stores a hash of that token. We use hashed network identifiers to limit abuse. If you submit an issue report, we store its description, type, recording reference and any contact details you choose to provide. Please avoid including sensitive personal information.

Network traffic and service providers

The backend is hosted on Hostinger and audio is delivered through Cloudflare R2. These providers receive network information, including IP addresses and requested resources, while delivering the service. A recording stream request increases an aggregate play counter. The current app contains no advertising SDK or third-party analytics SDK. We use submitted information to operate the service, respond to requests and reports, and prevent abuse.

Storage and deletion

Local data remains until you remove it or clear app data. Clearing app data does not automatically delete server submissions, and can remove access to your previous requests. Server requests and reports are retained for administration and follow-up; there is currently no automatic deletion schedule. You can request deletion by emailing the address below. Include the request or report number where possible so the administrator can locate the submission. Hosting and storage providers may retain operational logs and backups under their own service policies.

Your choices

Sending requests and reports is optional. You can remove downloaded recordings in the app and clear local data through your device settings. No advertising tracking permission is requested. Internet access is needed to stream, download, and send requests.
